I believe God is doing separation of the wheat and the tares in this season (Read Matthew 13:24-5).
Coronavirus COVID-19 or as it is affectionally known, the Corona Virus, has taken the world by storm.
At the moment of my writing this article, the United States of America been in quarantine about 3 weeks with projected plans by government officials to be quarantined an additional 4 weeks.
There has been a stimulus package put into place to get each qualifying adult $1,200 per person and an additional $500 per qualifying child.
Over 3 million individuals have applied for unemployment benefits due to businesses being closed by the Corona Virus.
Many businesses except the essentials such as grocery stores, are closed in fear of further spreading of the virus.
People are fighting over and hoarding unrealistic amounts of toilet paper.
The stock market is crashing.
To say the least, people seem are so afraid they are frozen, no hope in the current quality of their life. They think this is forever.
However, I have an uncanny sense of peace, not to brag or sound prideful, but I am not worried amidst this crisis. I am more hopeful and I want you to be peaceful too.
Why?
As a believer in Jesus Christ, you have an unfair advantage over the world's systems. Your winning ticket is the blood of Jesus Christ, your salvation; accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior. Knowing that God protects you and will be with you through is key to going through situations like this with faith.
The word of God specifically tells us He did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). This key is very important when knowing or discerning where information concerning the coronavirus is coming from. If the NEWS the media, whoever is causing you to FEAR the coronavirus that you forget God is in control and is allowing this to happen ...... then that voice is not of God. Anything that allows you to minimize and take God off His throne as the most powerful force existing, is an indicator of being a lie and sent to get you off track from focusing on God.
What does it mean to focus on God during this time of what seems like uncertainty? Acknowledge God and He will direct your paths, give God worship by following His instructions and ask Him what is going on and what must you do personally to work out your salvation (Read Proverbs 3:5-6).
"Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil" (Proverbs 3:7).
In reference to the wheat and tare revelation mentioned earlier, I believe God is shifting the world. He is separating the real from the fake in the body of Christ with the Coronavirus. Time and time again we are told of the wrath and cleaning of a Holy God in a sinful world according to the book of Revelations. PLEASE READ THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ IT RECENTLY NOR EVER READ IT FOR A PERSONAL REVELATION. I believe God is showing how quickly Jesus can come back and how we don't know WHEN we will transition into eternity before God for judgment. We have a hell or heaven to go to when we leave Earth.
In times like this, we need people on fire for God so people will not live in fear of things that will perish away like money, jobs and even their life but look towards where they stand with God. People who will point others to Christ without compromise and more importantly people who live to represent, to please a loving holy God.
This pandemic stripped the world of a spiritual noise. Businesses are accommodating their employees to allow remote work if possible allowing more time to spend with God, to rest. More Ministries are stepping outside of the four walls of the church building, families are spending more time together. I think God has put us in a position to see what matters without all these distractions of malls, clubs and even work. What matters is Him. Parents are now facing their flaws in parenting while school is closed. Also, husbands and wives are no longer able to hide in their careers because they are home. God is causing us to examine our hearts in this season by showing us our hearts with a mirror.
Do not panic. Do not be fearful and stop listening to the news and instead listen to God though His word.
Let God be the truth and every man a liar.
I leave you with an important question to prepare you now and forevermore. Do you believe God sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die to satisfy the debt for your sins? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your savior?
" That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9
If you are saved but got distracted don't worry, just repent (repent means to change to turn away, be genuine, God loves you and he knows what you have done, He wants to help) of your sins both unknown and known and invite Jesus to come into your heart. Renew your mind like what you first felt when you got saved. God knows.
Take this time to focus on who and what is important to you and what. What have you made an idol in your life? Why? Ask God to show you to burn that altar with fire.
